The Mahindra XEV 9S is an upcoming flagship electric SUV that is set to debut in India on November 27, 2025. The XEV 9S will be offered with two battery options, a 59 kWh and a 79 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack, similar to Mahindra’s XEV 9e and BE 6 models. The smaller battery variant delivers a claimed range of about 542 km on a single charge, while the larger battery offers up to 656 km, making it well-suited for long-distance and family use. The motor power ranges from 231 PS for the smaller battery to 286 PS for the larger one, both providing a torque of 380 Nm. A single motor rear-wheel-drive configuration is expected, with possibilities of an all-wheel-drive variant yet to be confirmed.
The XEV 9S boasts a modern and imposing exterior design inspired by the look of the popular XUV700. It features a massive LED light bar extending across the front grille, large LED headlamps with LED DRLs, flared wheel arches, flush door handles, roof-mounted spoiler, and rugged skid plates on the bumpers. The panoramic sunroof enhances the airy feel inside the cabin and adds to the SUV’s premium appeal.

Inside, the SUV stands out with a triple-screen dashboard comprising a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a central 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a dedicated 12.3-inch entertainment screen for the front passenger. This tech-forward setup is complemented by advanced features such as a Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, three-zone climate control, multi-color ambient lighting, and sliding second-row seats that improve space and comfort. The powered driver seat includes memory functionality, and ventilated and massage front seats are expected to enhance passenger comfort.

The Mahindra XEV 9S comes equipped with numerous tech and safety features, including wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, multiple wireless charging ports, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and toggle-style power window switches. On the safety front, the SUV offers seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, electronic stability program, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) including features like remote auto parking and hill hold assist.
