Specifications

Xiaomi 17

The Xiaomi 17 is the standard model in the series. It is a compact phone with a 6.3-inch screen, which is a bit smaller than most flagships today. But it does not cut corners in any major area.

Display: The Xiaomi 17 has a 6.3-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a refresh rate that adjusts from 1Hz to 120Hz depending on what you are doing. Peak brightness goes up to 3,500 nits, so it stays visible in bright sunlight. The screen is protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass. It supports HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision.

Processor: Both the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which is Qualcomm’s latest chip built on a 3nm process. This is the same chip used in the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. Performance for everyday tasks, gaming, and AI features is top of the line.

RAM and Storage: The Xiaomi 17 comes with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and storage options of 256GB or 512GB UFS 4.1.

Camera: The Xiaomi 17 has a triple rear camera system, all tuned by Leica:

  • 50MP main camera — Light Fusion 950 sensor (1/1.31-inch), wide aperture, OIS
  • 50MP ultra-wide camera — 102-degree field of view
  • 50MP telephoto camera — Leica 60mm floating lens, 2.6x optical zoom, supports macro shots as close as 10cm

For selfies, there is a 50MP front camera that can record 4K video at 60fps. The rear cameras support 8K video recording.

Battery: The Xiaomi 17 packs a 6,330mAh battery, which is larger than what you usually find on phones this size. Charging is fast at 100W wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless charging. It also supports 22.5W reverse wireless charging.

Software: The phone runs Android 16 with HyperOS 3 out of the box.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the top-end model, built mainly for people who want the best camera experience possible. It has a bigger screen, a more advanced camera setup, and slightly different charging compared to the standard model.

Display: The Xiaomi 17 Ultra has a 6.9-inch HyperRGB OLED display with a resolution of 1,200 x 2,608 pixels. The refresh rate also goes from 1Hz to 120Hz. Peak brightness reaches 3,200 nits. The screen uses Xiaomi’s HyperRGB panel, which has a full RGB subpixel layout that Xiaomi says uses less power while offering better clarity. It is protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0, which is 30% more drop-resistant than the glass on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

Processor: Like the standard model, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

  • 200MP periscope telephoto camera — 75mm to 100mm variable focal length, 3.2x to 4.3x continuous optical zoom, f/2.4–3.0 aperture, OIS. This lens can also be physically controlled using an optional zoom ring accessory.
