On February 4, 2026, Volkswagen India officially pulled the trigger on pre-bookings for its new flagship, the Tayron R-Line.

With the discontinuation of the Tiguan Allspace years ago, Volkswagen  fans have been starving for a proper three-row flagship. Enter the Tayron R-Line. As of February 4, 2026, Volkswagen officially started accepting pre-bookings for this beast. For a token amount of ₹51,000, you can secure your spot in line for what is essentially a “Super-Tiguan.”

Design

The Tayron R-Line is based on the updated MQB EVO platform, making it significantly larger than the standard Tiguan. We’re talking about a length of 4,792 mm and a wheelbase of 2,789 mm.

• The “R” Factor: Being an R-Line, it ditches the subtle chrome for gloss black finishes. The “Majestic Matrix” grille is illuminated, featuring a full-width LED light bar and a glowing VW logo.

• The Silhouette: It’s 253 mm longer than the Tiguan, giving it a commanding road presence. It rides on 19-inch Coventry alloy wheels that fill the arches perfectly.

• Lighting Tech: It debuts IQ.Light HD Matrix LED headlamps, which can black out individual pixels to avoid blinding oncoming traffic while keeping the road ahead bright as day.

• The “Glow” Factor: It features an illuminated Volkswagen logo both at the front and rear, connected by a seamless LED light bar.

• The Screens: The centerpiece is a gargantuan 15-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system. It is angled slightly toward the driver—a classic VW touch—and is paired with a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro.

• Climate & Comfort: While Europe gets heated seats, India gets front-row ventilated and massaging seats—a much-needed upgrade for our tropical climate. It also features 3-zone Climatronic control.

• Audio: For the audiophiles, it packs a 700-watt Harman Kardon 3D surround sound system with 11 speakers.

• Space Management: With the third row folded, the boot opens up to a massive 850 liters. It is basically a warehouse on wheels.

The Tayron R-Line recently secured a 5-star Euro NCAP rating (2025 testing protocol).

3. Configure Your Vehicle: * Variant: For the initial launch phase, India is getting the single, fully-loaded R-Line trim.

4. Enter Personal Details: Provide your name, mobile number, and email address. You will also need to enter your PIN code to see available dealers in your area.
