Toyota Rumion E Variant launched on March 6, 2026. Toyota has made the Rumion MPV more affordable in India by adding a new entry-level trim called the ‘E’ variant. this new base trim is priced at ₹9.56 lakh (ex-showroom), which is ₹95,000 less than what the Rumion used to start at before this update.
The prices of all other existing variants S, G, and V remain unchanged. The top variant, the V AT, continues to be priced at ₹13.86 lakh (ex-showroom). This means Toyota has simply added a new option at the bottom of the lineup to bring more buyers into the Rumion family without disturbing the rest of the range.
The Toyota Rumion was first launched in India in August 2023 with prices starting at ₹10.29 lakh. Since then, Toyota has made several updates adding six airbags as standard, revising prices after GST cuts in September 2025, and making minor feature additions across trims.
Despite all of this, the Rumion faced increasing pressure from the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, on which it is based. The Ertiga continues to undercut the Rumion by a significant margin in terms of starting price, which made the Rumion feel like a harder sell for budget buyers who wanted a 7-seater MPV but did not want to spend close to ₹11 lakh just to get started.
Priced below the ₹10 lakh mark, the new E variant will also result in lower road tax slabs in many states, which means the on-road price benefit for buyers is even greater than just the ₹95,000 drop in ex-showroom price. This is a smart move by Toyota to attract first-time MPV buyers and fleet operators who are looking at the lowest possible entry point.
The new E trim is positioned as a no-frills option and is available exclusively with a petrol engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. Here is what comes with the E variant:
Exterior:
- Projector halogen headlamps
- LED tail lamps
