2026 Tata Tiago EV Facelift Spied — Bigger Battery, Better Range, and New Look Coming Before Diwali 2026

2026 Tata Tiago EV facelift have been spotted and the changes visible through the camouflage suggest this update is going to be more than just a minor touch-up.

The facelift is expected to arrive in the second half of 2026, possibly before the festive season. Here is a detailed look at everything Tata is changing, what the spy shots reveal, and what the updated Tiago EV is expected to offer.

The Tiago EV was first launched in 2022 and became India’s most affordable electric car at the time. It was updated again in 2025 with a new 10.25-inch floating touchscreen, a redesigned grille, improved LED headlights, EV badging on the doors, a new steering wheel with an illuminated logo, an updated instrument cluster, and an HD rearview camera with guidelines.

The Tiago — both ICE and EV versions — currently contributes around 12% to Tata’s monthly sales, making it a crucial product in the brand’s portfolio. With newer and more affordable EVs entering the market from brands like MG and Citroen, Tata needs to keep the Tiago EV feeling fresh and competitive. The company also recently facelifted the Punch EV with a bigger battery and better range, and a similar treatment is now being planned for the smaller Tiago EV.

The spy shots show a revised lighting setup with LED DRLs relocated from the bumper to the main headlight unit, designed to mimic an eyebrow shape. This is a big visual change from the current car, where the DRLs sit lower in the bumper area.

The turn indicators have also been repositioned away from the grille, unlike the current model where they sit closer to the centre. There could also be redesigned headlight internals that give the car a more modern lighting signature overall.

The nose section has been reshaped, hinting at a redesigned upper panel and a more sculpted bumper layout. The lower air dam has also been revised, giving the front end a sharper and more defined look compared to the rounder face of the current model.

The spy shots also show the addition of an LED light bar located on the tailgate, along with reworked tail lights. This connected LED strip at the rear is a design element now commonly seen on newer Tata cars like the Punch EV and Curvv EV, and the Tiago EV is set to follow the same design direction.

The alloy wheels on the test mule are completely wrapped in camouflage, which often indicates that aero-styled wheels could be incorporated. New alloy wheel designs have been a consistent part of every Tiago EV update, and this time is expected to be no different.

Tata Motors is unlikely to make significant changes to the interior of the 2026 Tiago EV facelift, considering the 2025 model update was fairly comprehensive. However, a few additions are expected

Reports suggest a fully digital driver’s display with a cleaner interface will replace the current basic instrumentation. The higher variants are expected to retain the 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The current Tiago EV comes with two battery options:

  • 19.2 kWh — claimed range of 223 km (MIDC), real-world range of around 168 km
  • 24 kWh — claimed range of 293 km (MIDC), real-world range of around 205 km

Tata could introduce larger and denser battery packs on the Tiago EV, just as it did with the recently launched Punch EV facelift. There are expectations that the 30 kWh unit found in the updated Punch EV could be introduced, which enables over 265 km real-world range in the micro SUV.

Tata could also benefit from its new 6-in-1 electric drivetrain, which is not only more efficient and improves packaging but is also cheaper to manufacture. This drivetrain was first introduced with the Punch EV facelift and combines multiple components into one unit for better efficiency and lower cost.

Considering the limited updates expected for the Tiago EV facelift, the prices could go up by around ₹10,000 to ₹20,000 depending on the trim. The current Tiago EV starts at ₹7.99 lakh and goes up to ₹11.14 lakh (ex-showroom). So the facelift is expected to start somewhere around ₹8.10 lakh to ₹8.20 lakh for the base variant.
